RunArt — GPS Art Running Tracker. Last updated: 28 July 2026.
RunArt records your runs so it can draw them. To do that it needs your location while you run, and it stores your runs on our servers so they survive a lost phone and can appear on leaderboards you choose to join. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app at any time.
RunArt is published by the developer of the RunArt iOS app. For any privacy question, write to support@runart.app.
While a run is in progress — including when your screen is off or the app is in the background — RunArt records your position to measure distance and pace and to draw the shape your route makes. The recorded route is saved on your device and uploaded to our storage so it is not lost with the device.
Your exact route is never published. What other people can see is the shape of your run, normalised into a drawing with no coordinates attached, and only when you share it yourself or your profile is public.
The app creates an anonymous identifier the first time it opens, so your data belongs to something before you sign in. To post in community rooms you sign in with Apple; we receive the identifier Apple gives us, and your name only if you choose to share it. Apple's Hide My Email relay address is used if you pick it — we never see your real address unless you write to us.
Display name, city and country, and an optional Instagram username. Whether this profile is visible to other runners is a switch you control in Settings; when it is off, you do not appear on leaderboards and other people cannot read your profile.
Distance, duration, pace, speed, calories, elevation gain, cadence, heart rate where available, the date, and the recorded route. Route files may include heart-rate readings taken during the run.
With your permission RunArt reads heart rate, active energy, distance and workouts from Apple Health to show accurate statistics, and writes finished runs back to Health as workouts. Health data is used only to run the features you see. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes.
Rooms you create or join, messages and photos you post, meeting points you pin on the map, and who is a member. Everything you post in a room is visible to the members of that room. Reports you file about other people's content are stored so they can be reviewed.
Meeting points are places you choose to publish for a group run. Do not pin your home.
If you allow notifications, we store a device token and your language so messages from your rooms can reach you, and so we can send them in the right language. Run reminders are scheduled on your device and involve no server.
Aggregated, non-identifying usage and crash information, so we can tell which screens break. No advertising identifier is collected and no App Tracking Transparency permission is requested, because RunArt does not track you across other companies' apps or sites.
Database records are stored in Google's European region; uploaded route files and photos are stored in the United States. Both are protected by access rules that let each person reach only their own data, plus the rooms they belong to.
Your runs and profile are kept while your account exists. Delete the account and they go immediately — there is no waiting period. Messages you posted in rooms are taken down rather than erased row by row, so other people's conversations do not fall apart; the content and your name are removed from them.
In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, plan and level, every run, route and medal, the rooms you own, your membership of other rooms, your uploaded files, and your login itself.
Deleting the account does not cancel a RunArt Pro subscription — Apple manages that. Cancel it in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deletion is available in the app and takes effect at once; for anything else, write to support@runart.app and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK and are not satisfied, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
RunArt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. The app contains chat rooms written by other users; if you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
