Soften trigger sounds.
When a sound you find hard appears — chewing, crunching, sniffing, keyboard tapping, a pen clicking — Muffl gently covers it with a soft layer of sound in your headphones. When it's quiet again, the layer fades away. The rest of the time you hear people as usual.
No. While the shield is on, the microphone feeds a buffer of about two seconds that lives only in memory and is overwritten continuously. Sounds are classified on your iPhone. Nothing is written to storage and nothing is sent anywhere. See the Privacy Policy.
The masking sound plays only in your ears — through the speaker everyone nearby would hear it. Any headphones work; AirPods Pro in Transparency mode work best, because you keep hearing people normally.
That is how iOS shows that an app is listening. Muffl listens only while the shield is on, including when the screen is locked, so the masking keeps working through a meal or a commute.
Change the strength in the profile, pick only the triggers that bother you, and tap “That wasn't a trigger” after a false start — Muffl tunes its sensitivity from these answers. Settings › Diagnostics shows what the detector hears.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Muffl Pro. Restore Purchases is on the paywall and in the app's Settings.
No. Muffl helps you get through trigger sounds. It does not diagnose or treat any condition and does not replace working with a specialist.
