Nocta collects nothing. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. Everything the app knows about your nights stays on your iPhone.
Nocta's job is to hear a baby cry and start a soothing sound. To do that it listens through the microphone while a night is running. Here is exactly what happens with that audio:
While Nocta is listening, iOS shows the orange microphone indicator in the status bar. That is expected and is the system telling you the microphone is in use. Listening stops the moment you stop the night.
All of this is stored locally in the app's own container on your iPhone. It is included in your regular device backup like any other app data, under your control. None of it is transmitted to us; we have no way to read it, because we never receive it.
Nocta+ can export the diary as a CSV file. The export is created on the device and handed to the iOS share sheet; where it goes from there is entirely your choice.
The only network requests Nocta makes are to Apple's App Store, for purchases and receipt validation, handled by StoreKit. Nothing else.
Nocta contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs and no third-party code of any kind. Purchases are processed by Apple; Nocta never sees your payment details. Apple's handling of purchases is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Nocta is made for parents and caregivers and is used by adults. It collects no personal data from anyone, including children. The optional child name and birth date never leave the device.
Nocta is a comfort tool, not a baby monitor and not a medical device. It does not diagnose anything and does not replace supervision. If something about your child worries you, talk to your doctor.
Because we collect and store no personal data, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. Deleting the app removes everything Nocta has kept on your device.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
