The short version
Ossiato has no account, no analytics and no tracking. Your voice, your recordings and your progress stay on your iPhone. The only thing that leaves the device is the text of a practice call when you use the AI caller — see Network access below.
The microphone
- In Live mode, exercises and practice calls Ossiato uses the microphone to play your voice back in your headphones with a short delay. This audio is processed on the device, in memory, and is not sent anywhere.
- If you choose to keep recordings of exercises or practice calls, they are saved in the app's container on your iPhone. You can delete them in Settings at any time.
Speech recognition
After an exercise Ossiato can count your pace and pauses. It uses Apple's speech recognition configured to run on the device (requiresOnDeviceRecognition); your speech is not sent to Ossiato.
What Ossiato stores, and where
- Practice history: dates, durations, your own ratings, pace and pause statistics.
- Recordings you chose to keep.
- Presets, settings and headphone latency measurements.
- Purchase status read from the App Store.
All of this is stored locally on your iPhone (and shared with the Ossiato widget and Apple Watch app through an App Group on your own devices). It is included in your device backup like other app data. We never receive it.
Network access
Ossiato makes network requests in two cases only:
- Purchases — to Apple's App Store, handled by StoreKit.
- AI caller in the phone-call trainer — while you practise a call, the text of the current conversation (what the simulated caller said and the transcript of your replies), the scenario and language, and a random installation ID are sent to our server to generate the caller's next line. Audio is never sent. The server passes the text to Anthropic's Claude API and returns the reply. The text is not stored and not written to logs; it is not linked to your identity and not used for tracking or advertising. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models. The random installation ID is stored only as a one-way hash with request counters, to prevent abuse; the counters expire automatically.
If the server can't be reached, the trainer switches to offline scripts and nothing is sent.
Third parties
Ossiato contains no advertising and no analytics SDKs. Purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Children
Ossiato collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
We keep no personal data: practice-call text is not stored, and the hashed installation ID cannot be linked to you. You can export or delete your data in the app's Settings; deleting the app removes everything Ossiato has stored.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
